The Best Way to Wait For a Flight!
Our pre New York research threw up this Golden Gem. TWA Hotel is an airport themed Hotel at JFK Terminal 5. It also has a fully heated rooftop pool that non residents can use for a fee.
We paid £20 each for a session of up to 2 hours - which in New York terms is dirt cheap. The pool was as warm as a bath despite it being 9 degrees outside. There is an alpine themed bar which serves cocktails. I paid $48 for two sex on the beach cocktails. They were very strong and certainly not watered down.
We were worried about where to put our luggage when we got there but we needn't have worried as they have a free luggage storage room by the pool area.
This is a must visit experience for aviation geeks, however we would recommend it, even if you are not a plane spotter due to the novelty value.
